Aloha!
What are your thought on Hawaiian shirts?
Just a gimmick, or are these loud shirts actually stylish?
I have to say that I am starting to like them, they are another item to have in your wardrobe that you can pull out every now and then to give yourself some individuality in a world where a lot of guys are wearing the same things this summer.
If you’re looking for a men’s fashion trend which may not be your usual style, the Hawaiian shirt could be something to consider to make yourself stand out from the crowd.
The usual summer outfit for your standard guy could be a boring pattern short sleeve shirt, along with a drab pair of mid-blue jeans. That’s the kind of style I have been seeing from some not so stylish guys this summer, as the sun comes out, their standard go-to short sleeve shirt comes out.
But what if you want to add some proper flair and colour to your summer look? A Hawaiian shirt could be the answer. They are not so loud if you follow a couple of rules:
Short sleeves over long – Long sleeves with a full on Hawaiian print is just too much. Keep them sleeves short, and rolled up sleeves (or rolled-up effect) will keep it looking casual
Open up shirt, Plain tee under – To keep with an ultra casual look, and to tone down the tropical print, go for one of your best basic T-shirts and wear the shirt unbuttoned. The contrasting pattern with a plain tee tones it right down. White is always a good colour.
Homer Simpson said, “There’s only two kinds of guys who wear Hawaiian shirts: gay guys and big fat party animals”. Choose which you are, I choose party animal, you won’t DJ like Fatboy Slim, but you can look as crazy-cool as him!
Hawaiian Shirts On A Budget
You can get some groovy style shirts for cheap! If you’re on a budget and don’t want to spend a lot on something you may only wear a handful of times, George @ ASDA actually has a couple of shirts which are decent looking, and will not hurt your pocket.
Starting at only a fiver, or my pick from this range is still dirt cheap at only £8!
